Bush and his actions are not popular, no matter how many times the media tells us otherwise. Polls show that every other person you see on the streets - at least half of America - knows Bush didn't win the Presidency "fair and square."
Most blame the Bush Administration for the break down of national security on 9/11. Most wouldn't vote for Bush if the election were held today. We know this, but that's not enough. Most Americans believe whatever the media tell them.
To stop and reverse Bush's horrible policies, people need the facts the media won't report. They need information to convince friends and family to stand up against Bush and the shady special interests behind him. They're not getting these facts from the media, so Bush goes largely unchallenged.
Bush lies to America, and the media let him slide. They refuse to call Bush on his "fuzzy math" and they give Bush a blank check to bounce in our name. A huge recession and deficits loom.
Stock prices sag, while layoffs hit record highs. The few things we hoped we could count on - Social Security, Medicare, having votes count - are all swept away.
Bush and his billionaire boys club are laughing all the way to the bank. Unhappy days are here again, and we the people are getting stuck with the bill. This is the same, sad story we lived through with Reagan and Daddy Bush. All while the media told us not to worry. Things were great.
We cannot count on the mass media to do its job. We have to do it for them. Most people seem to know the right wing canards are wrong, but without seeing the facts, what can they say? You can help them find their voice, and encourage them to stand up against the Bush Occupation.
Most Americans are good people. We think for ourselves, and will not stand for the evil the right wingers are doing. But we feel alone, and helpless when the mass media echoes right wing orders to "get over it!" As if we can easily get back our precious freedoms once we "get over" the fact they're gone.
We must unite to make a real difference. We have to get the facts in front of America. We have to demand election reform, campaign finance reform and other measures to win back our nation. Help us get the word out.
It will not be easy. With the corporate media on their side - in their side pocket - right wingers try to deny us our right to disagree. "Get over it!" they shout. "Rally around the President!" they demand.
Well, we are not going to "get over" the worst attack on our freedoms in our history. We will not rally around man who told our national security to "back off" suspected terrorists, allowing the worst attack on our nation in our history.
We have to defy them, and make them listen to us for a change. We need a voice, and the Internet may be our last, best hope. We are your voice against the increasingly arrogant and oppressive Bush Occupation. The old cliche' is correct: "Freedom isn't free."
