For the past year, the only force stopping Bush from ruling like a dictator has been a bare one-vote majority of Democrats in the Senate.

The Senate Democrats stopped Bush from:

* allowing poisonous arsenic in water

* letting Texas energy companies steal another $30 billion from California consumers

* giving a permanent massive tax cut to big corporations and the rich, and bankrupting the USA

* appointing right-wing judges to shred the Bill of Rights

If Republicans gain just one seat in the Senate, there will be nothing to stop George W. Bush from doing whatever he wants - no matter how dictatorial:

* invading Iraq - or Iran or North Korea, while reviving the draft

* giving a $10 trillion tax cut to the rich by raising taxes on the middle class and poor

* gutting environmental protection and making global warming worse

* eliminating Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid

* appointing right-wing Supreme Court Justices to outlaw abortion

* reading your e-mail or locking you up without trial under his "USA PATRIOT Act"

* turning meter readers into spies under his "Operation TIPS"

* repealing the Bill of Rights and tearing up the Constitution

Will the Supreme Court led by William Rehnquist, Antonin Scalia, and Clarence Thomas stop Bush? Of course not - they appointed him by stopping the Florida recount!
