What's relevant now is that George Bush did not receive his party's nomination for what he did over three decades ago, but John Kerry did. That's why we need to get to the bottom of what the Swift Boat vets are saying. The original exaggerations or lies are not the problem. The current cover-up attempt is, because that goes to the heart of the man and the heart of what kind of president we could expect John Kerry to be. This spoiled rich-boy, Clinton style, slash and burn of anyone who dares question him is something sir that I am not willing to contend with on a daily basis for 4 more years, we had 8 Clinton years of that already and I voted for the cad. Bush has been a breath of fresh air with his upfront honesty and what's best for the country ethics.

the smears against the Clintons. Republican policies only benefit the top 2%,

As I said, it's not the divisive politics of left vs. right that we need to concentrate on. It's the character of this man John Kerry that is lacking. Take away all of your political posturing and liberal as opposed to conservative blustering and look at the core of the fellow and at the end of the day he has no more fiber than a rubber band.
A word of advice son, from an old Wyoming cowboy, "don't be haten". We survived a lot of bad presidents down through the years, it's just politics.

OOPS! We guess you DID fall for that Swift Boat BS. You can't find any more "divisive politics" than a bunch of right wing liars attacking a war hero. Maybe you just want to believe the BS. Still, if you were interested in truth you'd bother to look into Kerry's accusers.
The top Swift Liar John E. O'Neill has been lying about John Kerry for decades, but he still can't get his story right. He lied about contributing to GOP candidates. He lied about being in Cambodia. We know this because Nixon's secret taping system caught him telling Tricky Dick "I was in Cambodia, sir" when there was no reason to lie. O'Neill is contradicting himself on that key point.
Another Swift Boat liar now says they weren't under enemy fire when Kerry won his Bronze Star, but it turns out this same critic swore they were under fire when he won his own Bronze Star! Several of the Swift Liars called Kerry a hero when he was running for Senate in 1996. A few praised Kerry a few months ago. Suddenly they flip-flop like some Russian girl named Olga in the Olympics.
We'll tell you "What's relevant now." Bush is a complete failure as "president" just like he was a complete failure as governor, business man, student, son, and brother. You're a very funny man saying, "Bush has been a breath of fresh air with his upfront honesty and what's best for the country ethics." We haven't read anything funnier than that in ten hound dogs' lives!
You whine about Bill Clinton? Now there was a REAL president. Elected by the American People - unlike Bush - and loyal to the American People - unlike Bush. Bush is a blast of smog, more concerned with keeping the Saudi Royal Family happy than keeping Americans safe and alive.
Don't you read the papers? Bush is the single worst thing that's ever happened to America. $TRILLIONS in surplus pissed away and the worst deficits ever. MILLIONS of good jobs gone. The worst economic failure since the Great Depression. Nearly a THOUSAND troops dead in Bush's war against helpless Iraq. Three THOUSAND dead because Bush ignored the specific warnings and stayed on vacation before 9/11. Bush's life an endless series of lies and unethical - even criminal - actions. And you dare to bleat about ethics? The boy's just no good!
What about your boy Bush and his life of crime? He didn't commit crimes because he had to. He was born in Connecticut to wealthy parents. Bush committed crimes because he's a sociopath. Bush sexually assaulted women and even tried to beat up his own Daddy in a drunken rage. He wasted his life as a drunken drug addict, and he lies claiming he "found Jesus" at a Bible retreat. Never happened. Bush is the same sick, immoral, evil wretch he was when he tortured animals as a child and tortured his frat brothers as a young man. Any wonder about how Abu Ghraib happened?
Bush is guilty of driving drunk several times and covering it up. He "slithered" into the National Guard ahead of 100s of more qualified men on a waiting list. Former Lt. Governor Ben Barnes pulled strings to get Bush into the 100% safe "Champaign Unit." Barnes regrets those actions, in no small part because Bush drank and drugged himself out of pilots' status, flunked a drug test and broke his solemn oath to defend America when he went AWOL.
Went AWOL or deserted. You can pick your term for Bush's dereliction of duty, but Bush's superior officers recorded that he "wasn't observed" in the Guard for about a year! That's AWOL and it explains why Bush was AWOL from duty as president about 40% of the time. This when a real leader like Bill Clinton would have worked to protect us from terrorism as Clinton did and Bush didn't. See the articles at this site about that. As Max Cleland says, John Kerry has shrapnel in his leg from his Vietnam service. All Bush has are a couple of fillings to show for his "service." You praise Bush for his ethics? Cowboy, please!
Let's talk ethics. Bush is guilty of insider trading Harken Energy stock after the lawyers there warned him not to because it was against the law. Bush added to his rap sheet when he lied to Federal investigators about it. Note: Martha Stewart is going to prison for just that infraction. Bush is guilty of that and also guilty of failing to file reports on his illegal insider trades. The only reason W escaped due punishment? His Daddy picked the SEC Chairman!
Bush plowed the cash from the Harken scam into the Texas Rangers and then twisted arms to raise sales taxes on Texans. He even used trial lawyers to get the "gubmint" to abuse eminent domain powers so he and his partners could get a baseball stadium built. All this personally enriched him. Bush even traded away Sammy Sosa to make a bad team worse. Bush got several $millions and all the people got was a lousy baseball team. Some deal!
Hey, we thought conservatives were for LOWER taxes and LESS government? Not when they can tax $millions from regular folks and "condemn" property they want to develop, then put the profits in their own pockets. Rip off taxpayers for mediocre products and services. It's the Right Wing Way.
Bush took bribes from the bin Laden family and other foreigners who sought favors from his then-President Daddy. Bush lied under oath about much of that and just lied about the rest. As Governor he lied under oath in the "Funeralgate" matter denying he fired good public servents to shield his big-time donors and family friends who were fleecing mourners. Bush also traded special favors to pay off people for their silence about his draft evasion.
Team Bush slimed John McCain in 2000 just like they're sliming Kerry now. As candidate for governor and president, Bush lied constantly - even as he lies all the time in this dirty tricks campaign. That's right, Bush lied about how he dodged the draft, and then had to pay off those in the know with special favors to guarantee their silence about it. Specifically no-bid contracts for the Texas state lottery. Right wingers love those no-bid contracts!
Bush continued this perfidy with the Cheney-engineered no-bid contracts for Halliburton, currently under investigation for ripping off taxpayers and charging our troops in hospitals for tainted meals. That's right. Bush and Cheney help Halliburton rob the taxpayers while abusing troops who are serving America - as the chicken hawks refused to do - even those injured because of Bush!
Bush makes promises and flip-flops. He praises states' rights, but ran to the federal courts with a band of trial lawyers to throw out state laws and votes when he assaulted our constitution and led an illegal judicial coup against the republic. Since seizing office, he pissed away millions of jobs and $trillions in surplus. Worst of all he sacrificed 1000s of American lives in an unnecessary war based on lies and / or ignorance which he and Cheney engineered through the Office of Special Plans.
How have these fake macho chicken hawk misleaders conducted their war? Iraq fell quickly because - despite lies to the contrary - that nation posed no threat to America. We know this because we've found no weapons of mass destruction, but we also knew long before.
During a decade under no-fly zones and other straight-jacket sanctions no Iraqi killed a single American. During those 10 years they didn't shoot down any American aircraft. All that time, they didn't harm a man or woman in US uniform. They didn't pose any threat to us at all.
Bush and Cheney keep extending tours with unprecedented abuse of stop-loss orders for general forces as opposed to just specialists with irreplaceable skills. This is a "back door draft" - unlike the one they dodged during the Vietnam years. Meanwhile they keep trying to slash combat pay for our troops and their next budget will cut $BILLIONS from the VA. Some way to support the troops? Seems George AWOL Bush and Deferment Dick Cheney "loath the military"
ALL of that is relevant now. NONE of the BS from the Swift Boat liars make any difference to anyone who knows and cares about the truth. These self-contradictory claims and facile lies from bitter right wingers with axes to grind are exactly what we called them. Pure BS. Don't take our word for it. Take their word for it.
As mentioned above, some praised Kerry in 1996. Some praised him earlier this year. Reread the article you replied to for direct links to the direct quotes! Kerry's military record is the same as it was when these Swifties called him a hero. What's changed? Not the record, just their stories - which they can't keep straight anyway.
Yes, you're right about one thing. We survived Bush so far. But why not vote for a real president? Someone with guts and brains rather than a li'l momma's boy with neither? Kerry volunteered for Vietnam. Bush ran from Vietnam service and he ran and hid on 9/11. Bill Clinton got to ground zero from Australia days ahead of Cowardly Lyin' W.
John Kerry uncovered and defeated corruption, such as his investigation of the dirty, terrorist-funding BCCI. Such as his hearings into US drug dealers' links with Latin American thugs. Bush wallows in corruption. Why not elect a serious leader like Kerry rather than a worthless drunk frat boy turned criminal tyrant like Bush Baby?
A final thought. You came on trying to pretend you were interested in truth, but your antics demonstrated otherwise. You tell me "don't be haten" but there you go, "haten" ol' John Kerry. You just hate the man. Admit it! You don't have a single crime, shady deal or attempt to assault a family member to point to. All things W did, but which Kerry didn't.
So you attack Kerry with complete crap. Some from the Swift Boat BSers. Some from a dark crack we wouldn't care to describe. A word of advice son, from an old DC lawyer.
