Stop the Nuclear Option with PFAW and MoveOn
Mike Hersh urges you to "Tell all your friends and relatives to get involved in
this critical effort. It isn't a Democratic vs. Republican issue. This is an
American issue. I do not believe the Senate should rubber-stamp or approve all
(or any) nominees to the highest courts in the land without careful deliberation
- the "advise and consent" required by our Constitution. Eliminating the
filibuster would violate the Founders' intent, undermining the essential
principles of checks and balances which we need to maintain our freedom."

with fantastic ads - paid for by our tax dollars - packed with special effects

access to kids through public schools again using our tax money to trick our
kids into risking their lives for reckless, feckless military aggression. It

Feel A Draft Coming On?
Mike Hersh writes: I know this is hard to believe, but it's true. The
Republicans want to restart mandatory military service. We know this as "The
Draft." The Republicans do not respect our all-volunteer military. Even though
it's the mightiest fighting force ever seen in history. Even though that's all
we needed to win the Cold War. Even though they refused the call to serve. Why
do the Republicans want to restart the draft? Why now? (Note: this article first

The Politics of Leverage
Mike Hersh writes: We're suffering from a nonstop right wing campaign based on the excluded middle. We are that excluded middle. Right wingers know that not enough sane people vote, and enough insane people do so they can ride the media bias and massive cash advantages, game the system and rig enough voting machines, and as a last resort sue the voters if Democrats win.
When the corporate media wants balance, they pick a right winger and a Naderite who both blame everything on the Democrats. Republicans count on corporate support and vice versa. Right wingers use $millions to fund their disinformation schemes so they can gain access to power over $trillions.
The huge leverage of business money in politics allows the most massive return on investment ever contemplated. The scale is too huge for us to even think about.

Mike Hersh says, to be honest, I first thought this story was a hoax. I could not believe that in my own country, in "liberal" New York State, an attorney could be arrested. In front of his child. For wearing a T-shirt that said "Give Peace A Chance," a slogan famous for decades.
After receiving this wake up call, Hersh wants you to help him repeat it. Hersh is launching an Anti-Fascism Project.
