Republican Racism Redux
On 6/30/2005 12:24:38 AM, bsonicc@aol.com wrote: "I read your article on
Republican Racism and am disappointed in your viewpoint. I understand that many
people are racist, and in some ways, all people. The fact that High power
Republicans have racist actions does not mean that you should disgrace the
entire Republican party. I understand that you are looking for a change, but the
change is not to be there. The change is to be in the youth. Do not criticize
Republicans as a whole, for then you are becoming no different than they are.
Pinpoint the problem. Exploit the problem as much as possible from the
epicenter. Then you will succeed. Good Luck. Sincerely, Patriot-X"

Bush Campaign Group Endorses Kerry
"Yes, Bush Can" now says "no, Bush
can't!" Yes, Bush Can, an independent group dedicated to communicating Bush
policies directly to the public, has abandoned its campaign and is officially
endorsing John Kerry for President.

Valentina Shumyatsky writes: Kerry talks about plan that he have to make the
country more saver .BUT WHAT IS HIS PLAN? I do not think that even Kerry
knows what his plan.During one of the dabets kerry was asked if he can look in
the camera and say that he will not raise taxes, well he looked in the camera
point the finger and told the people that he will not raise taxes, well i

Cow Pies from Cheney Country
GENE'S genes@vcn.com writes: What's relevant now is that George Bush did not receive his party's nomination for what he did over three decades ago, but John Kerry did. That's why we need to get to the bottom of what the Swift Boat vets are saying. The original exaggerations or lies are not the problem. The current cover-up attempt is, because that goes to the heart of the man and the heart of what kind of president we could expect John Kerry to be. This spoiled rich-boy, Clinton style, slash and burn of anyone who dares question him is something sir that I am not willing to contend with on a daily basis for 4 more years, we had 8 Clinton years of that already and I voted for the cad. Bush has been a breath of fresh air with his upfront honesty and what's best for the country ethics.
The editors steer clear from the cow pie pasture.

Christian Conservative vs. Bush
Michael Miller writes:
"As a Christian conservative I reject this frivolous notion that the Bush/Cheney
Administration is remotely conservative," adding, "George W. Bush has given us
100 new government programs, the largest expansion of the welfare state in over
40 years, he continues gun control policies, he flip-flopped on federal funding
for oversea Abortion, he let Ted Kennedy write his education bill, etc., etc. To
claim this is 'to the right' is not only a big lie; it is just insulting and
stupid."
Miller also differs with Warren Gammel, who wrote:
"Why
I Like and Support Howard Dean" on the Constitutional Right to Choice, the
nature of Christianity, and Howard Dean.

Why So Sure About Dean?
Tom Geraghty asks: Why So Sure About Dean? You write: "Dean hopes to re-unite
middle class and working families against the greedy elites into a new New Deal
Coalition. . . . bringing us into the 21st Century with universal health care,
access to high quality education for all Americans, investment in our people,
millions of good new jobs, strong protections for the environment, workers and
consumers, with equality, fairness and justice for women, minorities, GLBT
people -- all of us. . . ."
I agree that most Americans want these things, and as a liberal I certainly
do want them. I also agree that Dean has been innovative in terms of message and
in terms of political organizing. I'm not so convinced that he has the program
or a real commitment to do these things. . . . I hope you guys are right about
him, but I'm not yet convinced . . .

Question?
"A pondering college freshman writes," Question: I was looking through your
site, and i wondered why you have so many one-sided articles. It seemed that
everything you had was either pro-democrat, or anti-republican. There was an
article where you stated "You'd think Republicans would know better than this.
Texas Republicans mocked Hispanics by airing radio ads featuring a "funny
Hispanic accent." Clueless California Republicans brought back anti-Hispanic
demagogue..." but, what does that have to do with those people being republican?
How can you characterize one Republican racist, and conclude that at least a
majority of republicans are racist?

"Bad News" Bush and Good News for America
Ed Pankus selectively offers some
self-serving reports from the White House's "Overview of the Economy." Then Ed
jumps about with the wide-eyed pep of a pompom girl and trills:
"Hey, Mike! Do you want the bad news first for your party faithful? I know
it's good news for the average guy, but the liberal wing of the Democratic party
needs the economy to tank to have any message to run on next year in the general
election. Sorry about the bad news..." [Ellipses in original, as Ed's sugar rush
trailed off.]

Bush Fan Admits He's "A Bit Paranoid"
A Bush supporter admits he's "A Bit Paranoid." Who can blame him? I'm glad you all are pulling for Howard Dean. That all but guarantees a Republican vistory [sic] in the next cycle of elections. The man - who claims some sort of experience from managing a state not quiet [sic] as big as Milwaukee and a budget not quite as large as the a big city school board - who,
according to friends of mine from Vermont - has made a horrible ongoing mess of the state health care system, would be the best thing for a Bush/Cheney victory
in 04.
Keep up the good work - it will be like Nov 2002 all over again! Looking forward to more of your "expert" analysis, Mike. Also, I enjoy reading about your continued whining about the President... [pointless ellipses in
original] therapy should work for you since you obnviously [sic] can't deal with reality on your own. Seek it.
The editors attempt to educate our favorite projecting pupil.

Shameless
Patrick Snider writes: "I understand
your concerns, however, you are wrong. Nader help Bush win? Come on. Nader was
the only Dem in the last election. Gore lost because he was so far to the right
many faithfull [sic] Dems saw him as a Republican. I voted Nader in 2000, and if
Dean or Dennis win the bid and slid to the right, I'll vote Green again. When
the liberal party becomes conservative, what else can I do?"
The editors suggest what else people can do - specifically vote to stop Bush
rather than helping the wrong wing by voting Green.

stop this nonsense
David_B_Kearney writes: Let's stop
this nonsense about you being a centrist - or being the "excluded middle". You
are nothing of the kind. You are a left wing liberal -------- as far off the
scale as possible. So stop pretending that you are moderate and start being
proud of who you are.
The editors respond. Proudly.

Help
KJM [nebx2002@yahoo.com] writes: Mike - You and
your radical left-wing minions need to stop your liberal self adulation, if only
for a moment, and face reality: The majority of the country thinks the issues
that you support and the contentions you make are simply insane. You are either
incapable of sound reasoning and logic and/or you are psychotic. In either
event, you need help!

Chicken Little and the Sky is Falling
pete streiff writes: Hey, I read with some interest (and I must admit much amusement) your article regarding "I'm not gonna get over it"- establishing the claim that Bush really did not win the election of 2000, and that Jeb Bush had his minions rigging the election, and blacks were disenfranchised, and Bush's daddy's friends on the court "really" elected him, and blah, blah , blah.....

You vacuous libs
Ron Robichaud [mailto:ron@mainevirtualmall.com] writes: You vacuous libs have had a long string of mis-calls...you all agreed there would be thousands of American dead in Afghanistan. Same for Iraq. You fools told us of how the dems would win the senate in 02 and gain seats in the house. You're being booed as speakers and booed as singers and booed as demonstrators. Despite the never ending proclamations as to the idiocy of our President he continues to run circles around you. It is time to use your diploma(s) (if you actually have any) for shredder tests. On the other side of the coin I must thank you for the comic relief.
The Editors reply.

Hate America Firster
Robert Peck writes: Hate America Firster. I mock you and all your hate propaganda. I have an extremely high IQ and can think for my self thank you not. Scary is it not? It is so sad to see the leftist, Maoist, Stalinist, Fags squirm, not!!!
The editors doubt Robert Peck has an "extremely high IQ," or that he thinks for himself. We do not believe he really voted for Carter, Clinton or McDermott. We decry the hate speech and foolishness he spews, and we invited you to reply to him. One reader did, and Robert Peck blessed us with another serving of his wisdom -- not!
